1. Patent Attorney – Senior Practitioner: Physics or Engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics)

There is an open vacancy in our firm for a senior practitioner with the drive and energy to develop and build a team of patent attorneys operating in the fields of physics and engineering.

2. Patent Attorney: Physics or Engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics)

 

We are looking for a qualified or part-qualified patent attorney with physics or engineering expertise to join our team in Wellington.  
 

You will have the opportunity to advise a wide range of local and international clients across different technologies.  Our growing client base includes individual inventors, start-ups, exporters, research institutes, and everything in between.  You will be able to work autonomously and be responsible for:

•    Patent drafting
•    Patentability, validity, and freedom to operate advice
•    Patent prosecution
•    IP strategy
•    Portfolio management
 

Skills & experience

•    A degree in physics or engineering (mechanical, electrical or mechatronics)
•    2+ years experience in the field of intellectual property
•    Sound background in drafting, prosecution and opinion work
•    Excellent communication and people skills
•    Fluent English
