ALEXANDRA BELL
Alexandra is a lawyer specialising in trade mark and copyright law. Before joining Catalyst Intellectual Property, Alexandra spent five years in London gaining experience in UK, EU and international trade marks, designs and related soft IP law at one of Europe’s top IP specialist law firms. Prior to that, Alexandra worked as a Solicitor in Wellington assisting local and international clients protect and enforce their trade mark rights in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Alexandra is passionate about assisting businesses, large and small to nurture and enhance their brand power and drive success. Alexandra’s extensive global experience and proven success in trade mark prosecution around the world has equipped her with a deep understanding of global trade mark law, strategic decision making and IP commercialisation.
Alexandra’s practice spans contentious and non-contentious matters across the entire trade mark lifecycle including conducting trade mark availability and clearance searches, advising on infringement matters, and filing and prosecuting trade applications both locally and internationally. Alexandra deals with matters directly through the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, IP Australia, and the World Intellectual Property Office, as well as around the world through an established network of agents.
Alexandra enjoys working with clients across a range of industries to develop innovative strategies for identifying, developing, protecting, commercialising, managing, and enforcing their trade marks in a way that is aligned with their commercial objectives and brand identity.
In her spare time, Alexandra is an avid traveller and enjoys exploring the outdoors by foot, bike or boat.
